Lightning And Thunder: The Storm’s Wild Dance

We live in a world full of exciting weather and one of the most amazing of them is lightning that flashing across the sky and thunder coming behind it.

Every time we see a bright flash and hear that loud sound we are watching nature show its power in the clouds above us.

Those lightning begins inside a cloud when small bits of ice and water bump into each other.
Those bumps make electric charges that build up until the cloud cant hold them anymore than comes the light we all know a huge spark jumps through the air.

This lightning moves faster than anything we can imagine. When lightning travels through the air it makes the air very hot very quickly.
The air expands and then suddenly collapses and that movement creates the sound we call thunder. First we see the flash and after that we hear the thunder and the reason is because light travels faster than sound.

Thunder and lightning always come together with the same storm and we can count the seconds between the flash and the sound so we can tell how far away the lightning is.
They can look scary but they are actually very fascinating. they remind us how powerful nature can be.

So the next time we see lightning light up the clouds we can think about the energy inside the air and the sounds that follow. We can understand this huge power that nature made. Just like the sky is speaking in sparks and echoes.
